Easy Ink Paintings for Fun and Relaxation!

Have you ever wanted to take some fourth dimension for yourself to create something, but felt like you didn't have enough time? This quick project is bully for beginners, and even professionals looking for something elementary to current of air downwardly afterward a long twenty-four hours of structured creating! Using a few fun techniques, you can make multiple abstruse ink paintings in only a few minutes! The greatest benefit of these little paintings is that the process is extremely relaxing and meditative.

Need to de-stress?  Sit down down with one of these; you'll lose track of time, and before you know it, you'll accept a beautiful mini painting, and be significantly more relaxed & happy!

Materials you volition need:

• Ink
• Watercolor paper
• Pens
• A protective surface to paint on

I'm Using:

• Liquitex Acrylic Inks (Red, Yellowish, Blueish)
• 140lb. Strathmore Watercolor Paper (3 1/ii″ x 3 one/ii″)
• Micron .five tip (Black)
• A sketchbook

The expert matter about this projection is that you lot don't have to follow anything line-past-line. Once you lot get the general idea of each step, every painting will be unique!

STEP ONE:

Pick whichever color you'd like to start with first. With that color, brainstorm dripping, splashing, or pulling the ink around your newspaper. At that place is no correct or incorrect manner to exercise this!

STEP TWO:

Echo this process with whichever other colors you'd like to add together. Some other techniques include swirling the ink around the paper, flicking it to create interesting patterns, and tapping the dropper from different heights above your paper for different sized ink droplets.

STEP 3:

• Using the droppers to mix colors
• Using a pencil/toothpick/cotton fiber bud to mix, swirl, and play with the colors

• Smearing the paper (or bits of information technology) along another to drag inks around, calculation gradients, etc.
• Rotating your newspaper and placing it on top of the excess inks you lot've merely removed to copy your design from a different angle on tiptop of the original
• and many more!

Play around with this until you like the overall blueprint.

Step Iv:

Once you're satisfied with the way your inks wait on your paper, permit them dry for a chip. Depending on how thick you lot put them on, the inks should dry pretty rapidly. (Note: Acrylic inks take longer to dry out than water-based inks.)

Using a pen (or multiple) of your choosing (any colors, thickness, etc.) you tin begin to outline some bones shapes. When I practice this, I similar to kickoff with the more "plain" looking spaces. In this case, I began by outlining the blueish and red spots in the bottom righthand corner. In that location is no wrong way to do this, either! Experiment with leaving some colors without lines, try to find shapes in all of them, or whatever combination of the two. You tin choose to only outline cherry ink bits, or to brand the outlines of the blue inks thicker than the rest. Whatsoever you feel looks best!

Also, try adding tiny patterns within colors, or in the white space between them! You tin add polka dots, stripes, zigzags, squiggles, shapes, scribbles, anything you tin think of! Make as much or as little pen detail equally you want, information technology'south your painting!

AN OPTIONAL TECHNIQUE:

Try dripping or spraying a bit of make clean water onto your paper, and and so carefully dabbing your inks onto it. Sit back and enjoy equally the inks spread out and dissipate in beautiful and random patterns! (This is personally one of my favorite methods.)

This project is quick, fun, easy, and wonderfully relaxing! It's as well something you can do over and over again, still making new and exciting paintings each fourth dimension, without having to learn new things or put in much time/endeavour.
